Installation Instructions for Volvo XC90
Part Numbers:

Wiring Access Location:
- SUV1, SUV2
Tools Required:
- Hitch Requires: 5/8" Pin and Clip
- Wrenches: 17mm, 18mm (tighten all fasteners with torque wrench)
Drill Bits:
- None
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Lower the spare tire.
- Remove the existing tow bracket on the passenger side and return it to the vehicle owner.
- Lower the exhaust by removing 2 bolts which secure the exhaust hanger bracket to the driver's side frame.
- Raise the hitch into position, sandwiching the exhaust hanger bracket between the hitch side bracket and the driver's side frame rail.
- Install fasteners as shown in the diagram.
- Tighten all M12 CL8.8 fasteners to 64 lb-ft.
- Raise the spare tire back into position.

- M12 x 1.75 x 40mm CL8.8 Bolts
- Flat Washer
- Lock Washer
Safety Notes:
- Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Follow all safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle, and wear eye protection.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
