Bulldog 5,000 lbs. Round A-Frame Trailer Jack Topwind 15" Lift Install Notes
Installation Instructions for Tongue Jacks
Part Number:
- N155032
Tools Required:
- 3/4” Wrench
Safety Instructions:
- Confirm no interference with the tow vehicle, tongue, ground, or other mounted accessories in any position (stationary or in motion).
- Fully retract and rotate the jack before towing.
- Ensure the drop foot or drop leg pin is fully inserted through both sides of the inner tube and drop tube before using the jack.
- Remove optional drop foot or caster before towing to maximize ground clearance.
- Secure the load, vehicle, and trailer from rolling by blocking wheels before operating the jack.
- Avoid excessive side forces to prevent jack failure.
- Replace bent, broken, or worn parts before use.
- Do not attempt to weld bolt-on brackets or straps to the tongue; use specific brackets for weld-on applications.
Installation Instructions:
Bolt-On Rack Jack:
- Place the gear housing on the tongue and insert supplied bolts into the corresponding holes for tongue width.
- Place the mounting bracket below the tongue with the flat surface against the tongue.
- Secure using locknuts and torque to 25 ft-lbs.
Bolt-On Mounting Bracket:
- Place the jack against the tongue and position the mounting straps on the opposite side of the tongue.
- Align the holes in the mounting bracket with the holes in the mounting straps.
- Insert 4 bolts through the mounting bracket and mounting straps. Ensure the upper bolts rest on the top of the tongue and the lower bolts are no more than 1/16” from the bottom of the tongue.
- Secure with locknuts and torque to 25 ft-lbs.
Snap Ring/Bolt-Thru Mount:
- Snap Ring Models: Place the jack bracket over the mount and insert the snap ring into the groove. Ensure it is fully seated.
- Bolt-Thru Models: Place the jack bracket into the recessed opening on the mount, insert the small end of the bushing into the jack bracket and onto the bolt, and tighten the locknut until there is minimal movement in the bushing.
"A" Plate Mounting:
- All welding must be performed by an AWS-certified welder.
- Weld the "A" plate to the trailer coupler using a 3/16” fillet weld.
- Attach the jack “A” plate to the coupler using three 3/8-16 grade 5 bolts with washers, torqued to 15-20 ft-lbs.
- Weld the recommended support plate to the bottom of the trailer frame using a 3/16” fillet weld.
Maintenance:
- Apply automotive grease to internal gears and bushings annually for side-wind models.
- Apply lightweight oil to screw stems for top-wind models.
- Flush the jack assembly with fresh water and reapply lubricant if used in a marine environment.
