Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Lower Spare Tire (All Models):

• If a spare tire is present, lower it to provide access to the hitch installation area.

2. Remove Existing Fasteners:

• Remove (4) M14 bolts from the frame rails. Do not clean the threads. Retain the bolts for reinstallation.

3. Install Hitch:

• Standard Installation: Raise the hitch into position, aligning it with the existing bolt holes on the frame.
• Diesel Models: Lower the DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) tank to access the passenger-side bolts:
  • Unclip the electrical connection on the passenger side and slide the clips off the rear stud posts.
  • Using a 13mm socket, remove (2) rear stud posts and (2) forward hex bolts from the DEF tank.
  • Support the DEF tank, which may weigh up to 100 lbs. Do not remove the filler pipe from the tank.
  • Slightly lower the tank to provide access to the bolt holes.

4. Attach Fasteners:

• Reinstall the previously removed M14 bolts through the hitch and into the existing weldnuts on the frame rails.
• Torque all M14 fasteners to 115 lb-ft (156 N·m).

5. Reinstall Components:

• Spare Tire: Raise the spare tire back into its original position.
• Diesel Models: Reinstall the DEF tank and reconnect all electrical components:
  • Torque the DEF tank studs to 21 lb-ft (28 N·m).
  • Torque the DEF tank hex bolts to 24 lb-ft (33 N·m).

Safety Notes:

• Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.
• If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent water and exhaust entry.
• Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Prepare the Vehicle:

   • Disconnect and isolate the vehicle’s negative battery terminal.
   • Locate the positive post underneath the hood, on the passenger side.
   • Open the rear lift gate and use a trim panel puller to remove the rear combination lights. Set aside the lights.

2. Access Rear Cargo Area:

   • Remove the rear cargo door threshold, cargo tray, and partially remove the driver’s side cargo side panel to access the body harness connection point.

3. Connect Driver-Side T-Connector:

   • From underneath the vehicle, route the ModuLite® and the T-One® Connector with yellow/brown wires to the driver-side rear combination light pocket.
   • Connect the T-One® Connector to the vehicle wiring connector, ensuring it locks into place.
   • Route the ground wire to the chassis ground point and secure the ring terminal.

4. Mount the ModuLite® Box:

   • Use the provided double-sided tape or cable ties to mount the ModuLite® box in a secure location near the driver-side rear combination light pocket.

5. Route Passenger-Side T-Connector:

   • Route the T-One® Connector with green/blue wires behind the rear bumper fascia to the passenger side.
   • Connect the passenger-side T-One® Connector to the vehicle’s wiring connector.

6. Install Body Harness:

   • Starting from the driver’s side, route the body harness with red/black/blue wires forward.
   • Route the red/black wires to the positive post underneath the hood, and the 12-gauge blue wire to the vehicle body harness connection point.

7. Connect to Battery:

   • Use the provided 30-amp fuse holder, butt connector, and ring terminal to connect the black wire to the battery.
   • Use the 15-amp fuse holder, butt connector, and ring terminal to connect the red wire to the battery.

8. Complete Connections:

   • Route the brake control harness to the appropriate connector under the dash, following the brake control manufacturer’s instructions.
   • Mount the brake controller as directed.

9. Secure the Harness:

   • Use the provided cable ties to secure the wiring harness, avoiding areas that could pinch, cut, or melt the wires.

10. Reconnect the Battery:

    • Reconnect the negative battery cable.

11. Reinstall Components:

    • Replace the combination lights, panels, and grommets. Seal any altered grommets with silicone.

12. Test the Installation:

    • Test the system with a test light or trailer to confirm proper functionality.
