Installation Instructions for Tongue Jacks

Step-by-Step Instructions:
General Installation Guidelines:
- Ensure there is no interference from the tow vehicle, tongue, ground, or other mounted accessories during use.
- Verify clearances for handle swing and swivel positions both before and after installation.
Bolt-On Rack Jack Installation:
- Position the gear housing on the tongue and insert the supplied bolts into the appropriate holes.
- Place the mounting bracket beneath the tongue, ensuring the flat surface is against the tongue.
- Secure using locknuts and torque to 25 ft. lbs.
Snap Ring/Bolt-Thru Installation:
- For snap ring models, position the jack bracket over the mount and secure the snap ring in its groove.
- For bolt-thru models, insert the jack bracket into the recessed opening, align the bushing, and tighten the locknut to minimize movement.
A-Plate Mounting Instructions:
- Use an AWS-certified welder for all welding.
- Align the jack and coupler, then weld using a 3/16" fillet weld.
- Secure the A-plate to the coupler with 3/8-16 Grade 5 bolts torqued to 15–20 ft. lbs.
- Weld the support plate to the trailer frame using a 3/16" fillet weld.
Direct Mount Instructions:
- Place the jack at the desired location.
- Weld 1" in two locations on each side using a 3/16" fillet weld.
Safety Notes:
- Always retract and rotate the jack before towing.
- Remove the drop foot or caster before towing.
- Do not exceed the rated capacity.
- Avoid side forces to prevent jack failure.
- Replace any worn or damaged parts before use.
Maintenance:
- Lubricate internal gears and bushings annually with automotive grease.
- Apply lightweight oil to handle units and moving parts.
- If used in marine environments, flush the jack with fresh water and reapply lubricants.
