Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Lower the Spare Tire:
- Locate the spare tire lowering mechanism and tools (refer to the vehicle owner’s manual).
- Carefully lower the spare tire and set it aside.
2. Lower the Exhaust:
- Use exhaust removal pliers or a pry bar to remove the rubber exhaust hangers in front of and behind the muffler.
- Note: Use a support or jack stand to hold the exhaust in place to prevent damage.
3. Install the Hitch:
- Inspect the weldnuts in the vehicle frame for debris or rust. Clean as necessary.
- Raise the hitch into position, aligning the attachment holes with the weldnuts in the frame rails.
- Secure the hitch using the provided M12 bolts and conical washers (ensure the teeth of the washers face the hitch).
4. Torque the Fasteners:
- Using a torque wrench, tighten all M12 bolts to 42 lb-ft (57 N·m).
5. Reinstall the Exhaust and Spare Tire:
- Reattach the exhaust to its rubber hangers.
- Raise and secure the spare tire back into position.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Prepare the Vehicle:
- Open the rear hatch and temporarily remove the rear threshold plate, privacy screen, storage covers, and floor covering.
- Open the rear door and fold the rear seat forward.
- Carefully remove the lower interior trim panels on the driver’s side to expose the wiring harness. Set aside all removed items safely.

Locate the Vehicle’s 8-Pin Connector:
- Locate the vehicle’s 8-pin connector behind the rear interior trim panel on the driver’s side.
- Insert the 8-pin Tow-Plug Adapter into the vehicle’s connector and lock it securely into place.

Ground the White Wire:
- Option 1: Locate an existing ground stud on the driver’s side. Loosen the bolt, place the screw eyelet on the stud, and retighten the bolt. Ensure all other ground connections are secure.
- Option 2: Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as the vehicle’s frame or crossmember. Clean the area of dirt and rustproofing. Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution: Verify what is behind the surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury. Do not drill into any exposed surfaces.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Locate the black 12-gauge power wire from the T-Connector box on the driver’s side.
- Attach the provided black wire and route it along the vehicle’s exterior frame or follow existing wiring to the engine compartment, avoiding hot pipes, heat shields, or areas that may pinch or break the wire.

Connect to the Vehicle Battery:
- Disconnect the Negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder. Attach the ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable and secure it.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the provided yellow butt connector.
Warning: Follow all warnings printed on the tow vehicle’s battery.

Reconnect the Battery and Test:
- Reconnect the Negative (-) battery cable and insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
- Test the installation with a test light or trailer to verify functionality.

Secure the Wiring Harness:
- Use the provided cable ties to secure the remainder of the T-One® T-Connector harness to prevent damage or rattling. Avoid areas that may pinch, cut, or melt the wires.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Store the 4-flat connector in the rear cargo area when not in use.
- When in use, pull the connector through the rear door and close the door carefully, ensuring not to pinch the harness in the door latch.
