Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Jeep Grand Cherokee L
Part Numbers:

- Trim Panel Remover
- 10mm Socket & Ratchet or Wrench
- Torx T-25
- Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)
- Wire Crimpers
- Wire Cutters
- Phillips Head Screwdriver
- Test Probe
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open the Hatch:
- Locate the trim panels covering the taillights.
- Use a T-25 Torx bit to remove the mounting screws on both the driver’s and passenger’s sides.
- Be careful not to break the trim panel mounting tabs. Remove the taillight mounting screws and set the taillights aside.

Disconnect the Wiring Harness:
- Disconnect the vehicle wiring harness from both taillight sockets.
- Carefully separate the connectors, ensuring not to damage the locking tabs. Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Begin on the passenger side and route the harness containing the green wire underneath the vehicle.
- Route it up through the opening between the vehicle bumper and body into the passenger-side taillight pocket.

Connect the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® Connector end with the green wire between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock it in place.
- Ensure connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs engaged.
Caution: Ensure the module is mounted with the epoxy side pointing downward to prevent water buildup.

Mount the Black Box:
- Determine a suitable mounting point behind the rear bumper fascia on the driver’s side.
- Mount the T-One® Connector black box using the provided double-sided tape.
Caution: Verify the area behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage to the vehicle or personal injury. Do not drill into exposed surfaces.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as an existing ground stud, or drill a 3/32” hole.
- Secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw. Clean the grounding area of dirt and rustproofing.
Warning: Avoid routing wires near hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or areas that may pinch or damage the wire.

Route the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Route the harness containing the yellow wire underneath the vehicle and up through the opening between the vehicle bumper and body into the driver-side taillight pocket.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock it in place.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder (provided).
- Attach the ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable and secure it.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the provided yellow butt connector.

Route the Power Wire:
- Starting from the front of the vehicle, route the black 12-gauge wire rearward along the frame rail, avoiding areas that may pinch, cut, or damage the wire.

Connect the Power Wire to the Black Box:
- Attach the black 12-gauge wire to the black power wire on the T-One® Connector black box using the provided yellow butt connector.

Reconnect the Battery and Test:
- Reconnect the Negative (-) battery cable and insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer. Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall all plastic trim panels, thresholds, and other components removed during installation.
- Ensure no wires are pinched or damaged.

Secure the Harness:
- Mount the trailer tow harness in an accessible location with a bracket or electrical box.
- Secure all loose wires with cable ties to avoid damage.

- Overloading circuits can cause fires. Do not exceed stated product ratings.
