Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Remove Rivets and Screws:
- Remove (3) rivets underneath the vehicle and (2) rivets in the wheel wells on each side.
2. Remove Taillight Screws:
- Open the tailgate and use a Phillips screwdriver to remove (1) screw below each taillight.
3. Remove Trunk Rivets:
- Inside the trunk, remove (2) rivets on each side to access the taillight fasteners.
4. Remove Taillights:
- Disconnect the taillight wiring and use an 8mm socket to remove (4) flange nuts from each taillight. Gently remove the taillights.
5. Detach Bumper Cover:
- Pull the sides of the bumper cover away from the vehicle until they detach. Disconnect the wiring harness and set the bumper cover aside.
6. Remove Bumper:
- Use a 15mm socket to remove (4) bolts and (2) nuts securing the bumper. Set the bumper aside.
7. Install Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position, placing it between the vehicle frame and the bumper. Loosely reinstall the factory bolts.
8. Tighten Fasteners:
- Use a torque wrench to tighten all 10mm fasteners to 42 lb-ft (57 N·m).
9. Reinstall Components:
- Reinstall the bumper cover, wiring harness, and taillights in reverse order.
Safety Notes:
- Regularly check the hitch and all fasteners to ensure secure attachment.
- If the hitch is removed, plug any holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water or exhaust fume entry.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Scion FR-S

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open the Trunk:
- Remove the threshold panel.
- Partially remove the corner felt trunk liner on both sides to expose the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness.

Locate the Taillight Wiring Harness:
- On both sides of the vehicle, locate the taillight wiring harness connection points.
- Separate the connectors carefully, ensuring not to break the locking tabs.
- Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt.

Install the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the driver’s side wiring connectors.
- Lock the connectors securely into place.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector containing the green wire below the threshold cover to the passenger-side taillight housing.
- Repeat Step 3 to connect the green wire.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point on the driver’s side near the connectors.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire with the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution:

- Mount the T-Connector black box on the driver’s side using the provided double-sided tape.

- Inside the vehicle, connect the black 12-gauge wire to the red wire from the T-Connector black box using the supplied yellow butt connector.
- Route the black wire through a grommet and along the vehicle’s exterior frame to the battery in the engine compartment.
Warning:
- Avoid routing near hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or areas where the wire could be pinched or damaged.

- Attach the yellow fuse holder to the positive (+) battery cable using the provided ring terminal.
