Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Insert Pull Wires:

   • Insert pull wires into the frame rails and use them to feed the carriage bolts and spacers into the frame rails through the access holes.
   • Leave the pull wires attached.

2. Lower Exhaust System:

   • Use exhaust removal pliers to remove the exhaust system at two rubber isolators.
   • Spray lubricant or soapy water on the metal hanger rod and rubber isolators to ease removal.
   • Support the muffler to avoid damage.

3. Position Hitch:

   • Add one spacer to the flange on the driver's side bracket if needed.
   • Raise the hitch into position and slide it over the top of the exhaust pipe on the passenger side.
   • Feed the pull wires through the slots in the brackets.

4. Secure Hitch:

   • Remove the pull wires and loosely install conical washers and hex nuts to secure the hitch.
   • For vehicles with a weldnut on the driver's side frame, use the provided M12 bolt and conical washer.

5. Tighten Fasteners:

   • Tighten all 7/16”-14 GR5 fasteners to 50 ft-lbs (68 N*m).
   • Tighten all M12 x 1.75 CL8.8 fasteners to 68 ft-lbs (92 N*m).

6. Reinstall Exhaust:

   • Reinstall the exhaust system onto the rubber isolators.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Buick Encore

• Trim Panel Remover
• 10mm Socket & Ratchet or 10mm Wrench
• Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)
• 1/4” Socket
• Wire Crimpers
• Wire Cutters
• Phillips Head Screwdriver
• Test Probe

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Open the Rear Tailgate:

   • Remove the threshold, trunk floor panels, and trays. Set aside all removed items carefully.

2. Remove Interior Trim Panels:

   • Partially remove the lower interior trim panels on the driver’s side. Be careful not to damage the clips.

3. Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:

   • Locate and separate the driver-side vehicle wiring connectors. Ensure connectors are clean and free of dirt.
   • Insert the T-Connector with the yellow wire between the vehicle’s wiring connectors and lock into place.

4. Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:

   • Route the T-Connector containing the green wire below the threshold cover to the passenger’s side taillight housing.
   • Repeat Step 3 for the passenger side using the T-Connector with the green wire.

5. Ground the White Wire:

   • Locate a suitable grounding point on the driver’s side near the connectors.
   • Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.

   Caution:

   • Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

6. Mount the Black Box Module:

   • Locate a flat surface in an out-of-the-way place and mount the T-Connector’s black box module securely.

7. Connect the Power Wire:

   • Inside the vehicle, connect the black 12-gauge wire to the black wire from the T-Connector black box using the provided yellow butt connector.
   • Route the black wire through a grommet and along the vehicle’s exterior frame or thresholds to the engine compartment.

   Warning:

   • Avoid hot pipes, heat shields, or areas that may pinch or damage the wire.

8. Connect to the Battery:

   • Disconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
   • Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder. Attach the ring terminal to the vehicle’s positive (+) battery cable and secure it.
   • Connect the black wire to the fuse holder using the provided yellow butt connector. Insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.

9. Reconnect the Battery:

   • Reconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
   • Test the installation with a test light or trailer to verify functionality.

10. Secure the Wiring:

    • Use the provided cable ties to secure the T-Connector harness, avoiding areas that could pinch, cut, or melt the wire.

11. Reassemble the Vehicle:

    • Replace the plastic trim panels, threshold, storage covers, floor coverings, and other items removed during installation, ensuring no wires are pinched.

12. Store the 4-Flat Connector:

    • Store the 4-flat connector in the trunk area when not in use.

• Max. tail lights: 5.6 amps
