• Trim Panel Remover

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Open the Rear Tailgate:

   • Remove the threshold, trunk floor panels, and trays. Set aside all removed items carefully.

2. Remove Interior Trim Panels:

   • Partially remove the rear interior trim panels on both the driver and passenger sides.
   • Remove the trim panel fasteners carefully to avoid damaging the clips.

3. Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:

   • Separate the vehicle’s wiring connectors on the driver’s side, ensuring not to break the locking tabs.
   • Insert the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock it into place.
   • Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and secure.

4. Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:

   • Route the T-Connector containing the green wire below the threshold cover to the passenger-side taillight housing.
   • Repeat Step 3 to connect the green wire on the passenger side.

5. Ground the White Wire:

   • Locate a suitable grounding point on the driver’s side near the connectors.
   • Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.

   Caution:

   • Verify the surface behind before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

6. Mount the Black Box:

   • Locate a flat, out-of-the-way surface and mount the T-Connector’s black box to prevent damage or rattling.

7. Connect the Power Wire:

   • Connect the black 12-gauge wire from the T-Connector black box to the black wire provided using the supplied yellow butt connector.
   • Route the black wire through a grommet and along the exterior frame or existing wiring to the engine compartment.

   Warning:

   • Avoid hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or areas that may damage the wire.

8. Connect to the Vehicle Battery:

   • Disconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
   • Attach the yellow fuse holder to the positive (+) battery cable using the provided ring terminal.
   • Connect the black wire to the fuse holder using the yellow butt connector.
   • Insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.

9. Reconnect the Battery:

   • Reconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
   • Test the installation with a test light or trailer to verify proper functionality.

10. Secure the Wiring:

    • Use the provided cable ties to secure the T-Connector harness, avoiding areas that could pinch, cut, or melt the wire.

11. Reassemble the Vehicle:

    • Replace the plastic trim panels, threshold, storage covers, and floor covering removed during installation, ensuring no wires are pinched or damaged.

12. Store the 4-Flat Connector:

    • Store the 4-flat connector in the rear cargo area when not in use.
