Installation Instructions for 2013-Current Chevrolet Trax and Buick Encore

- Torque Wrench

- Wire Brush
- Exhaust Removal Pliers
- Soapy Water
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Insert Pull Wires:
- Insert pull wires into the frame rails and use them to feed the carriage bolts and spacers into the frame rails through the access holes.
- Leave the pull wires attached.

Lower Exhaust System:
- Use exhaust removal pliers to remove the exhaust system at two rubber isolators.
- Spray lubricant or soapy water on the metal hanger rod and rubber isolators to ease removal.
- Support the muffler to avoid damage.

Position Hitch:
- Add one spacer to the flange on the driver's side bracket if needed.
- Raise the hitch into position and slide it over the top of the exhaust pipe on the passenger side.
- Feed the pull wires through the slots in the brackets.

Secure Hitch:
- Remove the pull wires and loosely install conical washers and hex nuts to secure the hitch.
- For vehicles with a weldnut on the driver's side frame, use the provided M12 bolt and conical washer.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Tighten all 7/16”-14 GR5 fasteners to 50 ft-lbs (68 N*m).
- Tighten all M12 x 1.75 CL8.8 fasteners to 68 ft-lbs (92 N*m).

Reinstall Exhaust:
- Reinstall the exhaust system onto the rubber isolators.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Chevrolet Trax

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Prepare the Vehicle:
- Open the tailgate and remove the cargo door on the floor.
- Carefully remove the floor trim panels and access panels on both sides of the vehicle.
- Set aside all removed parts carefully to avoid damage.

Locate the Taillight Wiring Harness:
- On both the driver and passenger sides, locate the taillight wiring harness inside the access panel area.
- Disconnect the connectors carefully, ensuring not to break the locking tabs. Clean all connector surfaces of dirt.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors.
- Lock the connectors in place, ensuring they are fully inserted and secure.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-One® Connector end with the green wire through the trim panel access hole, across the threshold, and into the passenger-side trim panel access hole.
- Repeat Step 3 for the passenger side using the T-One® Connector end with the green wire.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as the vehicle’s frame or crossmember.
- Clean the area of dirt and rustproofing. Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to prevent damage or injury.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Locate the black 12-gauge power wire from the T-One® Connector box.
- Attach the provided black wire and route it along the exterior frame or follow existing wiring to the engine compartment, avoiding areas that may pinch, cut, or break the wire.
Warning: Avoid routing near hot pipes, heat shields, or the fuel tank.

Connect to the Vehicle Battery:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder. Attach the ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the provided yellow butt connector.

Reconnect the Battery and Test:
- Reconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
- Insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
- Test the installation with a test light or trailer. Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.

Mount the Black Box Module:
- Locate a flat, out-of-the-way surface and mount the black box module to prevent damage or rattling.

Secure the Wiring Harness:
- Use the provided cable ties to secure the T-One® Connector harness, avoiding areas that may pinch, cut, or melt the wire.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Store the 4-flat connector in the rear cargo area when not in use.
