Step-by-Step Instructions:

Prepare Fasteners:
- Feed the coiled end of the pull wires through existing holes on the outer side of the frame rail and out of the access hole in the bottom of the frame (2 per side).
- Attach 7/16” carriage bolts and spacer blocks to the pull wires and pull fasteners inside the frame rails.
- Install rear fasteners first. Place the small spacer block at the rearmost attachment. Leave pull wires attached temporarily.

Install Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position by installing the driver’s side over the exhaust tailpipe first.
- Feed the ends of all pull wires through the mounting holes in the hitch.
- Align the holes in the hitch with the holes in the frame. Using the pull wires, pull bolts through hitch mounting holes and into position.
- Remove pull wires and loosely install conical washers (teeth side toward the hitch) and hex nuts onto the carriage bolts (4 places, 2 per side).

Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all 7/16"-14 GR5 fasteners to 50 lb-ft (68 N·m).
Hardware List:
- (4) Carriage Bolts: 7/16"-14 x 1.50 GR5
- (2) Spacer Blocks: 0.10" x 0.88" x 2.00"
- (2) Spacer Blocks: 1/4" x 7/8" x 3.00"

Installation Instructions for Modulite® HD Protector Vehicle Wiring

Step-by-Step Instructions:
Tow Vehicle Inputs - Determination:
- Disconnect and isolate the vehicle's negative battery terminal.
- Warning: Read and follow all warnings and instructions on the tow vehicle's battery.
- Splice the tow harness input wires to the vehicle as determined.
- Caution: Use appropriate gauge wire splices. Blue taps are for 16-18 gauge wires only.
Harness Installation:
- Determine the mounting location of the module and secure it using the double-sided tape provided.
- Warning: Mount the module with the epoxy side pointed towards the ground to prevent water buildup.
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the module, such as an existing ground stud, or drill a 3/32” hole to secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
- Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or personal injury.
- Route the power wire to the vehicle’s positive battery terminal. Use the provided fuse holder, butt connector, and ring terminal to connect to the battery.
- Do not insert the 15 amp fuse yet.
- Caution: Ensure the module is connected to a constant power source and avoid routing the wire near hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or pinch points.
Completion:
- Secure the harness with cable ties provided to prevent damage or rattling.
- Reconnect the vehicle's negative battery cable.
- Insert the 15 amp fuse into the fuse holder and close the cap.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer. Check each function independently and in combination.
