Tekonsha manufactures a wider range of different products for hooking up trailer lights to your Car Truck or SUV. T-One connectors work great with boat trailer wiring and utility trailer wiring. Typically those trailers will use the standard 4 flat plug which is what our T One connectors offer. If you have an RV Fifth Wheel or any other large type of trailer you will us a 7 pin trailer plug to control your electric trailer brakes. Tekonsha offers 7 pin trailer connector as well. Simply do a search above to see if there is a 7 wire trailer wiring available for hooking up your 7 way. If there is not you can use part number 85343 trailer wiring adapter to convert any 4-Flat into a 7-Way. In addition you will use part number 20506 which will include the rest of wiring needed for electric brake controls. Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Honda Fit, Honda Civic 4 Door, Honda Accord Sedan and Mazda 3

Phillips head screwdriver
Trim panel remover
Drill with 3/32” drill bit
1/4” socket

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Access the Rear Cargo Area:
- Open the trunk or hatch and locate the vehicle’s wiring inside the rear cargo area.
- Remove the plastic threshold cover, side access panels, carpet panels, and cargo trays as needed.
- Locate the connection points matching the ends of the T-Connector adapter on the back of each taillight housing.
- Separate the connectors carefully, ensuring no damage to the locking tabs. Clean all surfaces to remove dirt.
Note for 2007-2008 Honda Fit:
- Use the vehicle’s blue 3-pin housing, NOT the green 3-pin housing.
Connect the Driver’s Side T-Connector:
- Attach the T-Connector ends containing the yellow, brown, and red wires to the driver’s side taillight wiring.
- Ensure connectors are fully inserted and the locking tabs are secure.
Route to the Passenger Side:
- Route the T-Connector end containing the green wire below the threshold cover to the passenger’s side taillight housing.
- Repeat step 2 for the passenger’s side using the green wire.
Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as an existing ground stud.
- If needed, drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw. Avoid drilling into the vehicle floor or bed. Clean the grounding surface to remove dirt and rustproofing.
Caution:
- Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or personal injury.
- Do not drill into exposed surfaces.
Reinstall Trim and Panels:
- Replace all removed plastic trim panels, the threshold, storage covers, floor covering, and other items.
- Be careful not to pinch or cut the wires during reassembly.
Test the Installation:
- Verify all connections are complete for proper functionality.
- Use a test light or trailer to confirm the T-Connector is working properly.
Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- When not in use, store the 4-flat connector in the trunk or hatch area.
Specifications:
- Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps)
- Max. tail lights: (5 amps)
