The Tekonsha BRAKE-EVN brake controller offers advanced proportional braking by applying brake pressure to match the vehicles deceleration rate. The boost feature gives the ability to apply more initial braking at the onset of stopping when towing heavier loads. When adjusted properly for your load, proportional brake controls can even extend the life of your vehicles brakes. The large LED display is easy to see when adjusting the control to handle the weight of your loaded or unloaded trailer. The BRAKE-EVN brake control can handle up to brake 4 axles and offers a simple plug in installation option, so be sure to get the proper factory harness for your vehicle. - Remove the storage pocket above the ashtray to access the 4-pin grey electric brake control harness connector.
- This connector will be plugged into the back of the storage pocket.
Step 2: Connect the brake control adapter
- Disconnect the vehicle harness from the storage pocket.
- Plug the brake control adapter into the vehicle’s electric brake control harness connector.
- Follow the brake control manufacturer’s installation instructions.

- Drill with 1/8" drill bit
- Screwdriver or 1/4" Nut Driver
- Wire Cutter/Stripper
- Wire Crimping Tool
- Probe-type Circuit Tester

Mounting Instructions:

Select a Suitable Mounting Location:
- Must be securely mounted to a solid surface.
- Must be within easy reach of the driver.
- Ensure the area behind the mounting location is clear before drilling.

Mark the Hole Locations:
- Hold the mounting bracket in place.
- Mark the holes using the slots in the bracket as a template.

Output (Gain) Control:

- Slide the control to manually apply the trailer brakes.

Setting Power to the Trailer Brakes:

- Drive at 25 mph on a dry, level surface.
- Apply the Manual Control fully:
- If trailer brakes lock up, decrease power.
- If braking is insufficient, increase power.
- Repeat until braking is smooth and effective, just below wheel lock-up.
