Installation Instructions for 2012-Present Toyota Avalon and Camry Sedan
Part Numbers:

- Torque Wrench
- Sockets: 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 17mm, 3/4"

Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Remove the underbody panel (if present).
- Remove the screws, push-button fasteners, and plastic nuts securing the underbody panel to the frame and bumper fascia.
- Use a 10mm, 12mm socket, and other tools as specified.
- On single exhaust models, remove the screw attaching the underbody cover to the driver-side frame rail.
- Trim the panel according to the provided diagram or return it to the vehicle owner.
Step 2: Lower the exhaust.
- Detach two bolts securing the exhaust hanger brackets to the passenger-side frame rail.
- Remove the rubber isolator located forward of the muffler.
Step 3: Remove frame brackets (if equipped).
- Use a 14mm socket to remove the two brackets from the frame.
- Return the brackets and fasteners to the owner.
Step 4: Remove and trim the heat shield.
- Unfasten two screws securing the heat shield to the frame rail.
- Trim off the rear-most section of the heat shield as shown in the heat shield trim diagram.
Step 5: Repeat for dual exhaust models.
- For vehicles with dual exhaust, repeat Steps 2 through 4 on the driver side.
Step 6: Position the hitch and mark drilling locations.
- Raise the hitch into position and temporarily secure it using M10 bolts in the existing weld nuts.
- Mark the location for the forward-most hole on each frame rail and heat shield.
Step 7: Drill holes.
- Lower the hitch and drill 1/2" pilot holes in each frame rail at the marked locations.
- Enlarge the heat shield holes to 1".
Step 8: Enlarge frame rail holes.
- Use a die grinder to enlarge the drilled holes enough to accept spacers and carriage bolts.
- Take care not to damage the weld nuts.
Step 9: Fishwire bolts and spacers.
- Reverse fishwire the supplied spacers and carriage bolts through the enlarged holes, leaving the fishwires attached.
Step 10: Bend exhaust hanger brackets (if required).
- Adjust the exhaust hanger brackets so they rest flat against the hitch side plates.
Step 11: Reinstall the heat shield.
- Reattach the trimmed heat shield using the forward-most screw.
- The rearward edge of the heat shield should be compressed between the frame rail and hitch side plate.
Step 12: Final installation of the hitch.
- Raise the hitch into position and reattach the exhaust hanger brackets, with the hitch sandwiched between the brackets and the frame.
- Install all remaining fasteners and tighten securely.
Step 13: Torque all hardware.
- Torque M10 fasteners to 45 ft-lbs.
- Torque 1/2" fasteners to 110 ft-lbs.
Step 14: Reattach the exhaust.
- Raise the exhaust back into position and reconnect the rubber isolators.

- (2) .250 x 1.00 x 2.50" Square Hole Spacers
- (2) 1/2"-13 x 1-1/4" Carriage Bolts
- (2) 1/2"-13 Hex Flange Nuts
- (2) 7/16" Conical Toothed Washers
- (1) 1/2" Fishwire
