This particular class 2 hitch is made to be a custom hitch for certain years of the Ford Edge (to verify vehicle compatibility, see application info) It offers a weight carrying capacity of 3,500 lbs GTW and 350 lbs.
TW Class 2 trailer hitches can typically be used to tow a variety of lightweight trailers, such as a small utility trailer, small fishing boat trailer or popup camper (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component) They are also perfect for adding cargo space to your vehicle with a bike rack or cargo carrier.

Installation Instructions for Ford Edge SUV (2015-Present)

- 7/32" Socket

Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Lower the Exhaust
- Support and lower the exhaust by removing two rubber isolators mounted to the muffler.
- For Sport models, remove the exhaust bezels using a 5.5mm socket and a T20 Torx bit.
Step 2: Remove Rear Panels
- Remove the panels from behind the rear wheels by removing two hex nuts using a 10mm socket and two screws with a 7/32" socket.
- Set the panels aside for reinstallation.
Step 3: Fishwire Hardware
- Fishwire two CM-SP4 spacers and two 1/2" carriage bolts into the mounting holes on both frame rails.
Step 4: Trim the Underbody Panels
- Trim 3/8" off the center underbody panel outer tabs to allow easier mounting of the hitch.
- Trim the underbody side panels according to the provided diagram for reinstallation.
Step 5: Install the Hitch
- Raise the hitch over the exhaust and thread the fishwires into the mounting holes.
- Remove the fishwires and install four supplied 1/2" hex flange nuts.
- Note: The hitch side plates should be located between the center underbody panel tabs and the frame rails.
Step 6: Torque the Hardware
- Torque all 1/2" fasteners to 110 ft-lbs.
Step 7: Reinstall Components
- Reinstall the trimmed underbody panels using the hardware removed in Step 2.
- Raise the exhaust back into position and reinstall the rubber isolators and exhaust bezels if removed.
Note:
- For vehicles equipped with a hands-free liftgate, perform the kick motion on the left or right side of the receiver tube.

- Underbody Side Panel: Trim Dimensions: 7.25" x 3.00"
