Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Appearance Panels:
- Remove 2 plastic appearance panels on the driver side using a flat head screwdriver.
- Detach 4 push pins per panel (8 total).
- Remove 5 push pins from the center appearance panel and detach the remaining 2 push pins from the fascia tabs.
- Return the center appearance panel and 5 push pins to the vehicle owner. Retain other panels and pins for reinstallation in Step 5.

Remove Bumper Bolts:
- Using a 12mm socket, remove the lower bolt and the inboard bolt from the bumper on each side (4 bolts total).
- Leave the outer bolts attached to the vehicle and return the removed bolts to the vehicle owner.

Install Hitch:
- Rotate the passenger side of the hitch over the exhaust and raise it into position.
- Attach the provided M8 bolts and conical washers on each side.

Torque Fasteners:
- Tighten all 8mm fasteners to 27 ft-lb (37 N*m) using a torque wrench and a 13mm socket.

Reinstall Appearance Panels:
- Reattach the 2 driver-side appearance panels removed in Step 1.
- Reinstall the fascia tabs.

- (4) Hex Bolt, M8 x 1.25 x 30mm, CL10.9
- (4) Conical Washer, 3/8" (Part No. 01292006)

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Toyota Prius C

- Trim Panel Remover
- 10mm Socket & Ratchet or 10mm Wrench
- Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)
- 1/4” Socket
- Wire Crimpers
- Wire Cutters

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open Rear Cargo Area:
- Locate the vehicle wiring inside the rear cargo area by partially removing the plastic threshold cover, side access panels, carpet panels, and cargo trays.

Locate Taillight Wiring Harness:
- On both driver and passenger sides, locate the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness with a connection point matching the T-One® T-Connector ends.
- Disconnect the connectors carefully to avoid damaging the locking tabs. Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt.

Connect T-Connector:
- On the passenger side, insert the T-One® T-Connector end with the green wire between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock into place.
- Route the T-One® T-Connector end with the yellow wire to the driver’s side behind the panels and along the threshold. Repeat the connection process for the driver’s side.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the passenger-side connector.
- Option 1: Clean the area of dirt and rustproofing, drill a 3/32” hole, and secure the white wire using the eyelet and screw provided.
- Option 2: Locate an existing ground stud, loosen the bolt, place the eyelet on the stud, and re-tighten the bolt.
Caution: Verify the area behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury. Do not drill into vehicle floor, bed, or exposed surfaces.

Connect Power Wire:
- Attach the provided black 12-gauge wire to the black power wire from the T-Connector black box.

Locate 12-Volt Battery:
- Locate the vehicle’s 12-volt battery inside the cargo area on the passenger side, underneath the floor covering in the rear corner.

Install Fuse Holder:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable. Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder.
- Attach the ring terminal to the vehicle’s Positive (+) battery cable and secure.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the yellow butt connector provided.

Reconnect Battery and Install Fuse:
- Reconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable and install the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.

Mount the Black Box:
- Mount the T-One® T-Connector black box on the passenger side using the provided double-sided tape.
- Secure the remaining harness with the provided cable ties, avoiding areas that may pinch, cut, or melt the wire.

Reassemble Vehicle Components:
- Reinstall taillight assemblies, panels, and any components removed during installation. Ensure no wires are pinched or damaged.

Test Installation:
- Test the installation with a test light or trailer. Reset the vehicle electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.
