Installation Instructions for GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, Yukon XL & Chevy Silverado 1500, Tahoe, Suburban

Tools Required:
- 3/4” Wrench
- 7/8” Wrench
- Tape
- Utility Knife (for trimming air dam, if required)
- Torque Wrench
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove or Trim the Air Dam:
- The lower air dam must either be removed or trimmed for hitch installation.
- Consult the vehicle owner before trimming.

Install Carriage Bolts and Blocks:
- Use the provided 1/2” bolt leaders to pull the 1/2”-13 x 2-1/4” carriage bolts and 1/4” x 1” x 3” spacer blocks through the access openings in the frame.
- Use the reverse bolt leader method to pull the bolts into the frame shoe for installation.
- If needed, loosen or lower the splash shield to install the carriage bolts and blocks to the cross member.
- Reinstall the splash shield after the bolts are installed.

Install Hardened Washers and Conical Washers (Detail A):
- Use 9/16” hardened flat washers and 1/2” conical toothed washers to fill the space in the 1-1/4” diameter holes in the bottom of the frame.
- Ensure the teeth on the conical washers face up.

Tape Washers in Place (Detail B):
- Use tape to hold the washers in position on the frame shoe before raising the hitch into place.

Raise the Hitch and Install Hardware:
- Lift the hitch into position and align it with the pre-installed hardware.
- Install the remaining 1/2”-13 hex nuts and 1/2” flat washers as needed to fill any gaps between the hitch and the cross member caused by the splash shield.

Torque All Fasteners:
- Torque all 1/2” GR5 fasteners to 75 lb-ft (102 N-m).
Hardware List:
- (3) 1/2”-13 x 2-1/4” Carriage Bolts
- (3) 1/4” x 1” x 3” Spacer Blocks
- (3) 1/2” Hex Nuts
- (5) 1/2” Conical Toothed Washers
- (3) 1/2” Flat Washers (as needed for gaps)
- (6) 9/16” Hardened Flat Washers
- (3) 1/2” Bolt Leaders
Safety Notes:
- Check the hitch periodically to ensure all fasteners are tight and structural components are sound.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the vehicle frame to prevent water or exhaust fumes from entering.
- Warning: Do not exceed the vehicle’s Front Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR).
- Maximum Cargo Capacity: 500 lbs.
- Maximum Winch Line Pull: 9,000 lbs.

- Always wear eye protection when working beneath the vehicle.
- Do NOT use a torch to cut access or attachment holes.
