Step-by-Step Instructions:
Sport Side Bed Models:
- Some spare tires may need to be lowered and repositioned slightly for hitch installation.
General Instructions:
- Remove Bumper Bracket Bolts:
- Remove bumper bracket bolts and return them to the vehicle owner.
- Position Hitch:
- Position the hitch on the frame and install fasteners as shown in the diagrams.
Step Bumper Models:

Pre-1994 Models:
- Remove bumper, leaving brackets attached to the frame. Disconnect bumper wiring before removing the bumper.
- For 1982–1993 models: Bumpers are attached to each bumper bracket by two horizontal bolts.

1994–1997 Models:
- Bumpers are attached to each bumper bracket by two vertical bolts. Remove bolts and set aside.

1998–2004 Models:
- Remove the plastic step tread from the top of the bumper. The bumper is attached to the frame by four bolts; remove them.
- Attach the bumper brackets from the hitch kit to the frame using provided fasteners.
- Mark spare tire area (if applicable) for clearance, ensuring a minimum distance of 3/4" from spare tire to the hitch.

- Install the hitch using the provided fasteners as per your vehicle configuration:
- Pre-1994 Models: Use M12 bolts, conical washers, and nuts as shown in Figure 1.
- 1994–1997 Models: Use fasteners shown in Figure 2 for bumper bracket configuration.
- 1998–2004 Models: Reinstall bumper brackets on the bumper, aligning with slots in the bumper.
- Install the hitch using the provided fasteners as per your vehicle configuration:

Reinstall Bumper:
- Reinstall the bumper, ensuring it is aligned and secure. Reconnect bumper wiring.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Tighten all fasteners to 75 lb-ft (102 N*m).

- Drill with a 3/32" drill bit.
- Electrical tape or tie straps (not provided).
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Locate the vehicle’s tail light wiring harness along the inside of the left rear frame rail.
- The harness will have a connection point with connectors matching the ends of the T-Connector adapter.

- Note: Be careful not to damage the locking tabs.
