Installation Instructions for Jeep Wrangler

Tools Required:

• Wrenches: 5/8", 3/4"
• Torque Wrench

Notes:

• Hitch requires 5/8” pin and clip.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Remove the existing bolt from the frame/bumper attachment (one from each side of the vehicle).
2. If equipped, remove tow hooks and return them to the customer.
3. Raise the hitch into position as shown in the diagram.
   • Replace the bolt removed in Step 1 with either 7/16-14 x 1-1/2” bolts or M12 x 1.75 x 40mm bolts, depending on the vehicle model.
   • Install the remaining fasteners as shown in the diagram.
4. Tighten all fasteners as follows:
   • 7/16 GR5 fasteners: 50 lb-ft (68 N·m)
   • 1/2 GR5 fasteners: 50 lb-ft (68 N·m)
   • M12 CL8.8 fasteners: 68 lb-ft (91 N·m)

• (2) 7/16-14 x 1.50 GR5 Hex Bolts
• (2) 1/2-13 x 1.75 GR5 Hex Bolts
• (2) M12 x 1.75 x 40mm CL8.8 Hex Bolts
• (2) 7/16” Conical Toothed Washers
• (2) 1/2” Conical Toothed Washers
• (2) 1/2” Lock Washers
• (2) 1/2-13 Handle Nut Assemblies

Safety Notes:

• Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.

Wiring Access Location:

• Underneath the vehicle behind the rear protective covers on both sides.

Tools Required:

• Drill with a 3/32" drill bit.
• Screw or cable ties (provided in the kit).

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Temporarily remove the protective covers under the vehicle next to the rear bumper.

   • Locate the vehicle’s wiring harnesses underneath the vehicle behind the protective covers.
   • These harnesses will have connection points matching the ends of the T-Connector on both sides.

2. Starting on the driver’s side:

   • Separate the vehicle’s wiring harness connectors.
   • Note: Be careful not to damage the locking tabs.
   • Ensure the mating surfaces are free of dirt. Clean if necessary.

3. Insert the T-Connector containing the yellow wire between the vehicle connectors.

   • Ensure the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs secure.

4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the passenger’s side using the T-Connector containing the green wire.

5. Locate a suitable grounding point near the adapter, such as the vehicle frame or cross member.

   • Caution: Do not drill into the vehicle floor or bed.
   • Clean the area of dirt and rustproofing.
   • Drill a 3/32" hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.

6. Test the installation with a test light or trailer.

7. Bundle and secure wires to the vehicle’s crossmember using the provided cable ties.

8. Reinstall the protective covers removed in step 1.
