Installation Time:
- Approximately 30 minutes (for professional installers)
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Appearance Panels:
- On both sides near the wheel well, remove the panels covering the frame rails.
- Remove (2) hex nuts (M10 socket) and (2) hex nuts (M5.5 socket) from the bottom of the frame rails on each side.
- Trim or remove the panels once the hitch is in place.

Lower the Exhaust:
- Disconnect the rubber isolators on both sides of the exhaust. Support the exhaust to prevent damage.
- Note: Spraying a lubricant or soapy water on the metal hanger rod and rubber isolator helps with removal.

Install Fasteners:
- Feed the coiled end of the pull wire through the rearward hole and out the access hole.
- Attach the spacer and carriage bolt to the pull wire, then feed the fasteners into position through the hole.
- Repeat the process for both frame rails. For forward holes, repeat as necessary.
- If the carriage bolt is a tight fit, use a file or wrench to widen the access hole (see Figure 3).

Position the Fasteners:
- Pull the pull wire with fasteners into position. Leave the pull wires attached.
- Push the fasteners back into the frame rails with the pull wires to allow the hitch to go into position.

Raise the Hitch:
- Feed the pull wires through the hitch holes, then pull the fasteners back through the frame rails and hitch brackets.

Secure the Hitch:
- Feed a conical washer over the pull wire, then use the washer to hold the bolt in place.
- Remove the pull wires and attach the hex nuts. Tighten to hold the hitch in place.
- Push the hitch upward into the frame and tighten all fasteners.

Torque Specifications:
- Tighten all 1/2-13 GR5 fasteners with a torque wrench to 75 lb-ft (102 N·m).

Reinstall the Exhaust:
- Raise the exhaust back into position, using lubricant or soapy water on the metal hanger rod.
- Work on one side at a time. Push the rubber isolator outward while attaching the remaining metal rod into position.

Trim Appearance Panels:
- If necessary, trim the panels removed in step 1 or return them to the owner.
- Use a marker to outline the area to be trimmed, then use a utility knife to trim. Reinstall the panels.

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Ford Edge

2 Phillips Screwdriver
- Trim Panel Remover

- Wire Cutters

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Taillight Assemblies:
- Open the tailgate and remove the vehicle’s taillight assemblies using a trim panel remover to expose the taillight screws.
- Remove the screws and carefully pull the taillight away from the vehicle without damaging alignment pins.

Disconnect the Wiring Harness:
- Disconnect the vehicle wiring harness from both taillight sockets.
- On the driver’s side, route the T-Connector end with yellow wires up between the bumper and vehicle body into the taillight pocket.

Install the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Plug the T-Connector with the yellow wire between the mating plugs on the driver-side taillight socket and vehicle wiring harness.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector with the green wire to the passenger side under the bumper.
- Insert the green wire through the opening on the passenger side and connect it to the taillight socket, following the same procedure as the driver side.
Warning: Avoid routing near hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or areas where wires could be pinched.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector.
- Clean the area of dirt and rustproofing, drill a 3/32” hole, and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution: Verify the surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
- Attach the fuse holder to the positive (+) battery cable using the provided ring terminal.
- Connect the black 12-gauge wire to the other end of the fuse holder using the yellow butt connector.
- Route the black wire along the frame rail to the rear driver’s side.

Attach the Black Wire:
- Route the black wire through the opening between the vehicle’s rear bumper and body.
- Connect the black wire to the T-Connector black box using the supplied yellow butt connector.

Reconnect the Battery:
- Reconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
- Insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
- Test the installation with a test light or trailer.

Mount the Black Box:
- Locate a flat surface near the driver’s side taillight and mount the T-Connector’s black converter box using the double-sided tape provided.
Warning: Ensure the epoxy side of the module faces downward to prevent water accumulation.

Secure the Harness:
- Use the provided cable ties to secure the remainder of the T-Connector harness under the bumper, avoiding areas that may cut or pinch the wire.

Reinstall Components:
- Reinstall the taillight housing assemblies, ensuring the wiring is positioned properly between the housing and vehicle body.
- Replace any panels or trim pieces removed during installation.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
