Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Kia Forte
Part Numbers:

Tools Required:
- Trim Panel Remover
- Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)
- Phillips Head Screwdriver
- Test Probe
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open the Trunk:
- Remove the rear threshold plate temporarily.
- Partially remove the felt trunk liner behind the taillights.

Locate the Vehicle’s Taillight Wiring Harness:
- On both the driver and passenger sides, locate the taillight wiring harness.
- Disconnect the connectors carefully to avoid damaging the locking tabs.
- Ensure the connectors are clean and free of dirt.

Install the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-Connector with the yellow wire between the driver-side wiring connectors.
- Ensure the connectors are fully inserted and secured with locking tabs.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector with the green wire behind the panels and along the threshold to the passenger-side taillight wiring harness.
- Repeat Step 3 to connect the T-Connector with the green wire.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector.
- Clean the area of dirt and rustproofing.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution:
- Verify the area behind the surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Inside the vehicle, connect the black 12-gauge wire to the red wire from the T-Connector black box using the provided yellow butt connector.
- Route the black wire through a grommet and along the exterior frame or existing wiring to the engine compartment and battery.
Warning:
- Avoid hot pipes, heat shields, and fuel tanks while routing the wire.

Connect to the Vehicle Battery:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder.
- Attach the ring terminal to the positive (+) battery cable and connect the other end to the black wire using the yellow butt connector.
- Insert the 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
Warning:
- Follow all warnings and instructions for handling the vehicle battery.

Reconnect the Battery:
- Reconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
- Test the installation with a test light or trailer.

Mount the Black Box:
- Mount the T-Connector’s black box on a flat, out-of-the-way surface to prevent damage or rattling.

Secure the Wiring:
- Use the provided cable ties to secure the remaining harness.
- Avoid areas where wires could be pinched, cut, or melted.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Replace the trim panels, threshold plate, and any other components removed during installation, ensuring no wires are pinched or damaged.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Store the 4-flat connector in the trunk area when not in use.
Specifications:
- Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps)
- Max. tail lights: 5.6 amps
