Installation Instructions for Hand Winch

- Wrench: 9/16"
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Winch Installation:

Mounting the Winch:
- Secure the winch to the mounting location using three grade-5, 3/8" diameter bolts, each with a lock washer, flat washers on both sides, and nuts.
- Ensure the mounting surface can support at least five times the winch's rated capacity.

Handle Installation:
- Attach the handle to the input shaft and secure it with the provided locknut.

Cable Installation:
- Insert the steel cable through the square hole from the inside to the outside.
- Insert the cable through the second hole from the outside to the inside.
- Pull the cable tight and wrap it onto the drum.

Strap Installation:
- Insert the provided strap bolt through the sewn loop of the winch strap and secure it with the strap bolt nut.
- Ensure the strap is rated at 1.5 times the winch’s capacity, and the hook is rated at 1.5 times the strap’s capacity.
Operating the Winch:

Winding Strap In:
- Engage the ratchet lever in the pinion gear.
- Turn the handle to wind the strap onto the drum.
- The ratchet should make a loud clicking noise during this process.

Letting Strap Out:
- Firmly hold the winch handle.
- Release the ratchet lever from the pinion gear.
- Carefully rotate the handle to let the strap out.
- Do not let go of the handle until the ratchet lever has properly engaged and is supporting the load.
Maintenance:
- Regularly inspect and replace damaged straps or cables.
- Apply oil to the input shaft, bushings, and drum hub.
- Grease all gears periodically to ensure smooth operation.
Safety Notes:
- Always maintain at least five wraps of cable or strap on the drum.
- Do not exceed the rated load capacity of the winch.
- Never use the winch for lifting humans or equipment vertically.
- Inspect the winch and cables before each use for wear or damage.
- Stand clear of the cable path during operation to avoid injury.
- Keep the work area clean, dry, and safe for use.
- Ensure the winch is securely bolted to a surface capable of handling the load.
