Installation Instructions for XLT Powered Marine Jack
Tools Required:
- Ratchet
- 9/16” socket
- Torque wrench
Step-by-Step Instructions:
General Installation Notes:
- Attach the trailer to the tow vehicle. Use the vehicle’s parking brake and chock the trailer wheels.
- Disconnect the trailer battery ground cable before starting installation.
- Ensure proper clearance and alignment of the jack with the trailer tongue and other components.
Installation Instructions:
- Place the jack against the trailer tongue and align the mounting holes with the bolt-on brackets.
- Secure the jack using the supplied bolts and locknuts:
- Ensure a gap no greater than 1/16" between the mounting bolts and the tongue.
- Torque the bolts to 25 ft-lbs.
- Route the black and white wire leads from the jack to the trailer battery:
- Use cable ties or equivalent to secure the wiring along the trailer frame.
- Connect the black wire to the battery’s positive (+) terminal.
- Connect the white wire to the battery’s negative (-) terminal.
- Reconnect the trailer battery ground cable.
- Test the installation:
- Press the “EXT” switch to extend the jack.
- Press the “RET” switch to retract the jack.
- Test the LED light using the light switch under the jack's cover.
Plunger Pin Kit Assembly:
- Remove the lynch pin and drop leg from the jack assembly.
- Align the grooves on the jack tube with the plunger pin assembly and slide the pin onto the jack.
- Tighten the plunger pin assembly clamp to 15-20 ft-lbs of torque.
- Install the drop leg and secure it using the plunger pin.
Operation:
- To extend the jack:
- Press the “EXT” switch.
- Adjust the drop leg to the desired height and secure it with the lynch pin.
- To retract the jack:
- Press the “RET” switch.
- Fully retract the jack, ensuring the coupler engages properly.
- In case of power failure:
- Remove the cap on the jack top.
- Use a 9/16” socket with a ratchet wrench to manually raise or lower the jack.
Maintenance:
- Ensure the jack motor remains sealed and maintenance-free.
- Maintain the electrical system, including keeping the battery fully charged.
- Check all connections for tightness and corrosion. Ensure proper grounding.
- Periodically oil the plunger pin assembly and inspect moving parts for wear.
Safety Notes:
- Do not exceed the rated capacity of the jack.
- Always retract the jack fully before towing.
- Avoid applying side forces during operation.
- Replace damaged or worn parts immediately.
- Keep bystanders, especially children, clear during operation.
