- Lubricate the contact surfaces, locking mechanism, and plunger with light oil or equivalent.

- Tighten the coupler adjustment nut until the coupler clamps securely.
- Back the nut off by 1/2 turn for optimal engagement.

Safety Checks Before Towing:
- Verify plunger is in the locked position.
- Confirm a minimum tongue weight of 50 lbs on the ball.
- Inspect safety chains and ensure they cross under the trailer tongue.

Ball and Coupler Compatibility:
- Ensure the coupler matches the ball size as stamped on the coupler.
- Check the drawbar hole diameter (should not exceed 1/16” larger than the ball shank).

Torque and Inspection:
