Installation Instructions for Honda CR-V

Wiring Access Location:
- SUV3
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Lower the Exhaust:
- Disconnect rubber exhaust hangers in two places behind the muffler and one place forward of the muffler near the rear axle.
- Bend the exhaust hanger pins to lower the exhaust by 1/2".
- Note: Attach the rubber exhaust hanger to the hanger rod welded to the vehicle frame before installing the hitch. The hitch side bracket will block access to the hanger rod after installation.

Enlarge Access Holes:
- If necessary, enlarge the forward access hole on each side to allow for fishwiring of carriage bolts and spacer blocks.

Fishwire Fasteners:
- Fishwire 1/2”-13 carriage bolts and spacer blocks through access holes and down through the rearward holes on both sides of the vehicle.

Repeat Fishwiring for Forward Attachment:
- Fishwire carriage bolts and spacer blocks through the same access hole, ensuring proper alignment.

Install the Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position, taking care not to push fasteners back into the frame.
- Loosely install conical toothed washers and hex nuts.

Install U-Bolt:
- Center the hitch on the vehicle.
- Install the 3/8”-16 U-bolt as shown in Figure 1. Add flat washers, lock washers, and nuts.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all 1/2”-13 Grade 5 fasteners to 75 lb-ft (102 N·m).
- Torque all 3/8”-16 Grade 5 fasteners to 30 lb-ft (41 N·m).

Reinstall the Exhaust:
- Raise the exhaust back into position and reattach the rubber exhaust
