Notes:

• A transmission cooler and power steering cooler are required for maximum towing capacity. Refer to the vehicle owner’s manual for details.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

For 2001-2003 Acura MDX and 2001+ Honda Pilot:

1. Remove Tow Hook:

   • Remove the tow hook from the driver’s side of the vehicle.
   • Return the hook and fasteners to the vehicle owner.

2. Lower the Exhaust:

   • Detach three (3) rubber muffler hangers to lower the exhaust.

3. Position the Hitch:

   • Raise the hitch into position and align it with the existing weldnuts on the frame.
   • Secure the hitch using the provided fasteners.

4. Reinstall Exhaust:

   • Reattach the muffler hangers.

5. Adjust Heat Shield (if needed):

   • If an exhaust rattle occurs, trim the rearward exhaust heat shield between the cross tube and muffler.

For 2004 Acura MDX:

1. Remove Tow Hook:

   • Follow the same steps as outlined above.

2. Remove Fascia Covering:

   • Remove the fascia under-covering by detaching bolts and clips.
   • Return the cover and fasteners to the vehicle owner.

3. Lower the Exhaust:

   • Detach four (4) rubber muffler hangers to lower the exhaust.

4. Position the Hitch:

   • Raise the hitch into position and secure it using the provided fasteners.

5. Reinstall Exhaust:

   • Reattach the muffler hangers.

Hardware List:

• (6) M12 x 1.25 x 35mm CL8.8 Hex Bolts
• (6) 1/2" Conical Washers

Torque Specifications:

• Tighten all M12 x 1.25 CL8.8 fasteners to 68 lb-ft (92 N·m).

Step-by-Step Instructions:

General Instructions for All Vehicles:

1. Remove the tape securing the wiring harness connector from the wiring loom.
2. Attach the T-Connector adapter to the vehicle’s wiring connector.
   • Ensure the T-Connector adapter is fully inserted with locking tabs in place.
3. Secure the black box with a screw or cable tie (provided).
   • Tuck any excess wiring behind the access panel before securing it into place.
4. Re-install any plastic trim panels, screws, or brackets that were removed for installation.
