Installation Instructions for Hyundai Santa Fe GLS/Limited (6/7 Passenger)

- Wrenches: 17mm, 19mm
- Drill Bits: None
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Spare Tire:
- Lower and remove the spare tire. The release is located beneath the storage compartment in the back of the vehicle.

Remove Access Door:
- On the rear fascia, remove the access door by detaching two plastic push pins with a #2 Phillips screwdriver and pressing the two outside tabs inward (refer to Figure 2).

Position Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into place and insert M12 bolts through the bracket and frame (see Figure 1).
- Note: The plastic bumper locator pin may interfere with the hitch hardware. If needed, trim the pin at the shoulder to ensure proper clearance.

Insert M10 Bolts:
- Insert M10 bolts through the bracket and into the frame. Hand-tighten the bolts.

Torque Fasteners:
- Torque the M10 bolts first, then the M12 bolts, to the specified values below.

Reinstall Spare Tire:
- Ensure the spare tire is properly seated upon reinstallation.

Reinstall Access Door:
- Reattach the access door removed in Step 2.

- Qty (4): Bolt – M12 x 1.75 x 120 CL8.8
- Qty (4): Bolt – M10 x 1.25 x 30 CL10.9
- Qty (8): Conical Washer – 1/2"
- Qty (4): Conical Washer – 7/16"

Safety Notes:
- Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Observe safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle and wear eye protection.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
