Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Remove the Fascia Door:
- If present, remove the fascia door.
2. Install Carriage Bolts and Blocks:
- Feed the carriage bolt and large block through slots on the bottom of the frame rails using the pull wire as shown in Figure 3.
3. Position the Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position, lifting the bumper mounting bracket over the fascia where necessary.
- Secure the hitch using M12 bolts and conical washers into the existing weld nuts. Be cautious not to push the bolts into the frame (Figure 1).
4. Install Hardware:
- Thread the conical washer over the pull wire to hold the bolt in place, remove the pull wire, and attach the hex nut.
- Hand-tighten all bolts.
5. Secure to Bumper:
- For vehicles without weld nuts:
Pull carriage bolts and small blocks through the end of the bumper and the bumper mounting bracket using the pull wire. Attach the conical washer and nut. - For vehicles with weld nuts:
Install the M12 bolts and conical washers into the existing weld nuts on the bumper (Figure 2).
6. Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all 1/2-13 GR5 fasteners to 75 lb-ft (102 N·m).
- Torque all M12 CL10.9 fasteners to 92 lb-ft (125 N·m).
7. Replace or Modify Fascia Door:
- Replace the fascia door for 2005-2015 Equinox models.
- For 2016 and newer models, trim the fascia door as shown in Figure 4 (obtain the owner's permission before trimming).
- Return fascia doors to the owner for other models.

Safety Notes:

- Periodically check all fasteners for tightness.

Access the Wiring Harness Area:
- Chevrolet Equinox / Pontiac Torrent:
- Open the rear tailgate.
- Locate the jack storage compartment on the driver’s side.
- Remove the panel and tire jack to access the harness area.
- Suzuki XL-7:
- Open the rear tailgate.
- Locate the jack storage compartment on the passenger side.
- Remove the panel and tire jack to access the harness area.
- Chevrolet Equinox / Pontiac Torrent:

Locate the Trailer Harness Connector:
- Chevrolet Equinox / Pontiac Torrent:
- The 4-pin connector is attached to the floor of the jack compartment with a plastic clip.
- Suzuki XL-7:
- The 4-pin connector is located on the top-left side of the jack compartment.
- Chevrolet Equinox / Pontiac Torrent:

Insert the T-Connector:
- Connect the T-Connector into the vehicle’s trailer plug harness.
- Ensure the T-Connector is fully inserted and the locking tabs engage securely.

Ground the White Wire:
- Chevrolet Equinox / Pontiac Torrent:
- Locate the ground stud near the trailer plug connector.
- Use a 10mm socket or wrench to remove the bolt.
- Place the white wire with the eyelet around the bolt and re-tighten it.
- Suzuki XL-7:
- Locate the ground stud on the floor beneath the jack compartment.
- Remove the bolt, attach the white wire eyelet, and re-tighten the bolt.
Warning: Ensure all other ground connections remain secure when reattaching the ground stud.
- Chevrolet Equinox / Pontiac Torrent:

Install Relays in Fuse Box:
- Open the vehicle’s hood and locate the fuse/relay box near the driver’s side firewall.
- Carefully remove the cover without damaging the locking tabs.
- Locate relay positions 58 and 59:
- Place one of the provided relays into position 58 to activate the Right Turn/Stop Trailer Light.
- Place the second relay into position 59 to activate the Left Turn/Stop Trailer Light.
Warning: Relays must not exceed 20 amps. Using improper relays may cause damage.

Insert Fuses:
- Locate fuse positions 35, 37, and 43 in the fuse box:
- Insert a 10-amp fuse into position 35 to power the Park Lamp Trailer Function.
- Insert a 10-amp fuse into position 37 to power the Left Turn/Stop Function.
- Insert a 10-amp fuse into position 43 to power the Right Turn/Stop Function.
Warning: Replacing fuses exceeding 10 amps may damage the vehicle or trailer.
- Locate fuse positions 35, 37, and 43 in the fuse box:

Verify Installation:
- Test the wiring harness installation using a test light or by connecting a trailer.
- To reset the vehicle’s electrical system during the first test, temporarily remove the key from the ignition.
