Step-by-Step Instructions:

Mark Fascia Centerline:
- Use a marker or tape to mark the centerline of the fascia for reference.

Remove Plastic Rivets and Screws:
- Remove plastic rivets from the supports on the bottom of the bumper fascia by pulling the center post of the rivet approximately 1/4". Push out the rivet by hand. Remove 3–4 Phillips screws from each wheel well.

Remove Trunk Fasteners:
- Open the trunk and remove two hex screws from under the rear hatch securing the bumper fascia. Repeat for both sides.

Remove Bumper Fascia:
- Loosen tail light bolts to allow additional clearance for fascia removal.
- Gently pull upward from the rear wheel well trim panel on both sides, unclipping the tabs inside. Work up toward the tail lights, releasing cleats with a small screwdriver as needed. Continue to remove along the bottom to the trunk, detaching any wiring harness if present. Set the fascia aside.

Remove Bumper:
- Remove eight (8) bolts holding the bumper in place. Return the fasteners to the vehicle owner.

Trim Bumper (If Necessary):
- Use a die grinder to remove any material as shown in Figure 2.

Install Hitch and Bumper:
- Raise the hitch and bumper into position as shown in Figure 1. Secure with the provided fasteners.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all M8 CL8.8 fasteners to 20 Lb.-Ft. (27 N*M).

Trim Fascia:
- Using the centerline marked in Step 1, trim a 2.50” x 4.00” section from the fascia as shown in Figure 3. Use a drill to create rounded corners.

Reinstall Fascia:
- Align and reinstall the fascia, ensuring all fasteners and wiring harnesses are reattached in reverse order of removal.
Hardware List:
- (8) Hex Bolts: M8 x 1.25 x 30mm CL8.8
- (8) Conical Washers: 3/8"
Safety Notes:
- Regularly inspect all fasteners and the hitch ball to ensure they remain securely tightened.
- Plug any holes in the trunk pan or body panels if the hitch is removed to prevent water or exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Honda Civic Sedan

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove the Taillights:
- Open the trunk and remove the taillights on both the driver and passenger sides.
- Carefully pull the taillights away from the vehicle, avoiding damage to the alignment pins.

Locate the Taillight Wiring Harness:
- On both the driver and passenger sides, locate the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness.
- Disconnect the harness connectors carefully, ensuring not to break the locking tabs.
-
Prepare the Grommet:
- Temporarily remove the rear threshold plate and partially remove the felt trunk liner behind the taillights.
- On both sides, unseat the grommet where the vehicle's taillight wire harness passes through.

Route the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Slit the grommet on the driver’s side to allow the trailer wiring harness access.
- Route the T-Connector with yellow and brown wires through the grommet and reseat it.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Locate the green 2-pin connector in the driver-side taillight housing and disconnect it.
- Insert the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors.
- Ensure the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs in place.

Connect the Brown Wire:
- Locate the black 3-pin connector in the driver-side taillight housing and disconnect it.
- Insert the T-Connector end with the brown wire between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock into place.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector end with the green wire to the passenger side behind the panels and along the threshold.
- Repeat the grommet preparation step for the passenger side.

Connect the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Repeat the driver-side connection steps for the passenger side using the T-Connector with the green and red wires.
- Locate the blue 2-pin connector in the passenger-side taillight housing and insert the T-Connector with the red wire.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector and clean it of dirt and rustproofing.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution: Verify what is behind the surface before drilling to prevent damage or injury.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Inside the vehicle, connect the black 12-gauge wire from the T-One® T-Connector black box using the supplied yellow butt connector.
- Route the black wire through a grommet and along the exterior frame or follow existing wiring to the engine compartment.
Warning: Avoid routing the wire near hot pipes, heat shields, or other hazardous areas.

Connect to the Vehicle Battery:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
- Attach the ring terminal from the fuse holder to the Positive (+) battery cable.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the yellow butt connector.

Reconnect the Battery and Test:
- Reconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable and insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
- Test the installation with a test light or trailer.
- Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.

Mount the Black Box Module:
- Mount the T-One® T-Connector’s black box module on a flat, out-of-the-way surface to prevent damage or rattling.

Secure the Wiring Harness:
- Use the provided cable ties to secure the T-Connector harness, avoiding areas that may pinch, cut, or melt the wire.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall the taillight housing assemblies, positioning the vehicle wiring harness between the housing and the body.
- Reinstall the felt trunk liner, threshold, and any other removed components.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Store the 4-flat connector in the trunk area when not in use.
