Installation Instructions for Dodge Ram Chassis Cab 3500/4500/5500 and Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra 3500 Cab & Chassis

Wiring Access Location:

Refer to manufacturer’s specifications.

Tools Required:

• Wrenches: 3/4"
• Drill Bits: 17/32"
• Chisel, Grinder, Clamps
• Center Punch

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Dodge Chassis Cab Models:

1. Remove Rear Rivet:

   • Remove the rearmost rivet on the bottom of the frame rail on each side. This location will be enlarged in Step 3.

2. Position Hitch:

   • Raise the hitch into position.
   • Ensure the rear edges of the horizontal flanges are flush with the end of the frame rails.
   • Clamp the hitch to the frame rails to hold it in place.

3. Drill Frame Holes:

   • Use the hitch as a template to drill three (3) holes on each side of the frame.
   • Exercise caution when drilling near fuel filler lines on the driver’s side.

4. Install Fasteners:

   • Secure the hitch using the provided hardware as shown in the installation diagram.

Chevrolet/GMC Cab & Chassis Models:

1. Align Hitch:

   • Raise the hitch into position, aligning the 1" diameter hole with the rivet on the bottom surface of the frame rail on each side.
   • Clamp the hitch to the frame.

2. Drill Frame Holes:

   • Use the hitch as a template to drill three (3) holes on each side of the frame.

3. Install Fasteners:

   • Secure the hitch using the provided hardware as shown in the installation diagram.

Torque Specifications:

• Tighten all 1/2"-13 GR8 fasteners to 110 lb-ft (149 N*m).

Hardware List:

• (6) Carriage Bolts, 1/2"-13 x 1.75" GR8
• (6) Spacer Blocks, 1/4" x 1" x 3"
• (6) Lock Washers, 1/2"
• (6) Hex Nuts, 1/2"-13 GR8

Safety Notes:

• Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are securely tightened.
• If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water or exhaust fumes from entering.
• Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
• Observe safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle and wear eye protection.
• Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Chassis Cab Models:
