Step-by-Step Instructions:

Lower Exhaust:
- Disconnect three (3) rubber exhaust hangers from the muffler to lower the exhaust system.

Remove Tow Hook:
- Detach the tow hook from the driver-side vehicle frame. Return the tow hook and fasteners to the vehicle owner.

Install Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position and align it with the existing weld nuts on the frame. Install all fasteners as shown in the instructions.

Raise Exhaust:
- Reconnect the rubber exhaust hangers to return the exhaust system to its original position. Reattach the muffler to the exhaust pipe if removed earlier.

Torque All Fasteners:
- Tighten all M10 x 1.25 CL8.8 fasteners to 42 lb-ft (57 Nm) and all 1/2"-13 GR5 fasteners to 75 lb-ft (102 Nm) using a torque wrench.

Installation Instructions for Tow Harness for Mitsubishi Outlander

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Disconnect the Battery:
- Disconnect and isolate the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery terminal.

Remove Interior Panels:
- Open the vehicle’s rear tailgate.
- On the driver’s side, remove access panels, threshold, trunk floor panels, and trays. Set all items aside carefully to avoid damage.

Locate Factory Tow Harness Connector:
- On the driver’s side, locate the factory tow harness connector taped to the vehicle body harness.

Connect the Tow Harness:
- Insert the tow harness into the factory connector and lock it in place.
- Ensure all connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs secured.

Mount the Black Box:
- Locate a flat surface in an out-of-the-way place to mount the tow harness black box-module. This prevents damage or rattling.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point on the driver’s side near the connectors.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire with the provided eyelet and screw.
