Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Remove Lower Fascia Screws:
- Use a T25 Torx bit to remove (4) screws from the lower black plastic fascia panel.
2. Remove Outer Bolts:
- Use a 10mm socket to remove (2) bolts securing the lower black plastic panel on both sides.
3. Remove Wheel Well Liners:
- Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove (3) screws from each wheel well liner.
4. Remove Additional Screws:
- Remove (2) screws securing the fascia and mud flaps from behind the wheel well liners on both sides.
5. Remove Mud Flaps:
- Use a T15 Torx bit to remove (2) screws from each mud flap behind the wheel well liners. Save the mud flaps for reinstallation.
6. Remove Plastic Trim Panels:
- Use plastic trim removal tools to remove (1) plastic panel near each taillight.
7. Remove Taillight Bolts:
- Use an 8mm socket to remove (1) bolt near the taillight on both sides.
8. Remove Fascia:
- Carefully remove the fascia starting from the wheel wells. Unclip the fascia and disconnect any electrical connections on the passenger side.
9. Remove Metal Panel:
- Use a 10mm socket to remove (1) bolt and (1) nut from the metal panel above the bumper beam on both sides.
10. Remove Bumper Beam:
- Use a 21mm socket to remove (4) factory bolts from the bumper beam on both sides. Save the bolts for reinstallation. Return the bumper beam to the owner.
11. Apply Silicone Sealant:
- Apply sealant to both hitch side bracket mounting surfaces.
12. Install Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position and align its holes with the vehicle’s end panel.
- Loosely install (8) factory M14 bolts.
13. Tighten Fasteners:
- Use a torque wrench to tighten all M14 CL10.9 fasteners to 148 lb-ft (200 N·m).
14. Trim Lower Fascia:
- Use a tape measure, marker, and utility knife to trim the lower fascia as shown in the included diagram.
15. Reinstall Components:
- Reinstall the metal panels, wiring harness, fascia, mud flaps, wheel well liners, plastic panels, and all fasteners.
Safety Notes:
- Regularly inspect the hitch and all fasteners for proper tightness.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes to prevent water or exhaust entry.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Always wear safety glasses and observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle.
- Do not cut holes with a torch.
