Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Hyundai Elantra

- Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Prepare the Rear Cargo Area:
- Open the trunk and temporarily remove the rear threshold plate.
- Partially remove the corner felt trunk liner on both sides to expose the vehicle's taillight wiring harness.

Disconnect the Taillight Wiring Harness:
- Locate the taillight wiring harness on both the driver and passenger sides.
- Disconnect the connectors, being careful not to break the locking tabs. Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt.

Install the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the driver-side wiring connectors.
- Ensure all connections are fully inserted and locked into place.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector end with the green wire under the felt trunk liner to the passenger-side taillight wiring harness.
- Repeat Step 3 for the T-Connector with the green wire.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector. Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution:
- Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury. Do not drill into the vehicle floor or any exposed surfaces.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Disconnect the vehicle's negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder. Attach the ring terminal to the vehicle's positive (+) battery cable.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the provided yellow butt connector.

Route the Black Wire:
- Route the black wire out of the engine compartment, either along the exterior frame and through a grommet or inside following the existing wiring to the rear of the vehicle.
Warning:
- Avoid routing the wire near hot pipes, heat shields, or areas that may pinch or break the wire.

Connect to the Black Box:
- Attach the black 12-gauge wire to the red wire from the T-Connector's black box using the provided yellow butt connector.

Reconnect the Battery:
- Reconnect the vehicle's negative (-) battery cable.
- Insert the 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
Warning:
- All connections must be complete for the T-Connector to function properly. Test the installation with a test light or trailer.

Mount the Black Box:
- Mount the T-Connector black box on the driver’s side using the provided double-sided tape.
- Secure the remaining T-Connector harness with cable ties to prevent damage or rattling, avoiding areas that could cut or pinch the wire.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall the felt trunk liner, threshold, and other items removed during installation, ensuring no wires are pinched or cut.
Note:
- Store the 4-flat connector in the spare tire compartment when not in use.
