Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Taillight Assemblies:
- Remove the driver and passenger side taillight assemblies to locate the vehicle's taillight wiring harness connectors.
- The connectors will be similar to those on the custom wiring harness.

Access Taillight Openings:
- Vans / Expedition / Navigator:
- Partially remove the rear interior plastic trim panels on the driver side and open the vehicle jack storage compartment to expose the openings to the taillight assemblies.
- Remove the threshold cover plate between the rear doors.
- Escort / Tracker:
- Partially remove the trunk lining to expose the grommets accessing the taillights.
- Remove and slit the grommet to allow wires to pass into taillight openings.
- F-150 Flareside Only:
- From underneath the vehicle, locate the access hole into the taillight openings.
- There will be an access hole on each side of the vehicle.
- Vans / Expedition / Navigator:

Route the Custom Wiring Harness:
- From the passenger side, route the custom wiring harness end containing the green wire out from inside the vehicle through the taillight opening.

Connect the Wiring Harness:
- Disconnect the vehicle's center black wiring harness connector from the taillight assembly, being careful not to damage the locking tabs.
- Plug the custom wiring harness connector containing the green wire between the separated halves.

Route and Connect the Yellow Wire:
- Route the yellow wire across the vehicle under the threshold cover removed in step 2.
- Route the custom wiring harness ends containing the yellow wire out from inside the vehicle through the taillight opening.
- Repeat step 4 using the connector containing the yellow wire.
- Reseat the grommet and use the provided sealant to seal the cut in the grommet and around all the wires.

Secure the Wiring:
- Tuck the yellow wire under the threshold panel and secure.
- Reinstall the plastic trim panel, jack storage panel grommets, and taillights.
Warning: Check for miscellaneous items that may be hidden behind or under any surface before drilling to avoid damage and/or personal injury.

Finalize Installation:
- Reinstall all items removed during installation.
- Install the provided 4-flat dust cover to help prevent corrosion.

Part 1: Install the 4-Way to 7-Way Adapter
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Mount the Adapter:
- Choose a suitable mounting point on the vehicle, typically near the hitch.
- Use the provided bracket and screws to secure the adapter.

Connect the 4-Flat Plug:
- Plug the 4-flat connector on the adapter into the existing 4-flat plug on the vehicle.
- This connection enables tail lights, left turn, and right turn signals.

Ground the Adapter:
- Locate a clean, solid grounding point near the adapter.
- Drill a 3/32" hole if necessary and secure the white ground wire from the adapter using the provided screw and eyelet.

Leave Additional Wires Disconnected:

- Install two 30A circuit breakers on the firewall or another suitable location near the battery.
- Use self-tapping screws to mount them securely.

Route Power Wires:
- Connect the black 12-gauge wire from the 7-way adapter to the auxiliary side of one circuit breaker (this powers the 7-way socket).
- Run a heavy-gauge wire from the battery's positive terminal to the battery side of this circuit breaker, using a ring terminal.
- Run another heavy-gauge wire from the battery's positive terminal to the auxiliary side of the second circuit breaker (for the brake controller).
