Installation Instructions for Ford Edge (2016-Present)

Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Lower the Exhaust
- Support and lower the exhaust by removing (2) rubber isolators mounted to the muffler.
- For Sport models, remove the exhaust bezels using a 5.5mm socket and a T20 Torx bit.
Step 2: Remove Rear Panels
- Remove the panels from behind the rear wheels by removing (2) hex nuts with a 10mm socket and (2) screws with a 7/32" socket.
- Set the panels aside for reinstallation.
Step 3: Fishwire the Hardware
- Fishwire (3) CM-SP4 spacers and (3) 1/2" carriage bolts into the mounting holes for both frame rails.
Step 4: Trim the Underbody Panels
- Trim the center underbody panel tabs as per the provided diagram to allow easier hitch mounting.
- Trim the underbody side panels to allow for reinstallation.
Step 5: Mount the Hitch
- Raise the hitch over the exhaust and thread the fishwires into the mounting holes.
- Remove the fishwires and install (6) supplied 1/2" hex flange nuts.
- Note: The hitch side plates should be located between the center underbody panel tabs and the frame rails.
Step 6: Torque the Hardware
- Torque all 1/2" fasteners to 110 lb-ft.
Step 7: Reinstall Components
- Reinstall the trimmed underbody panels using the hardware removed in Step 2.
- If necessary, trim the washers to fit the reinstallation process.
- Raise the exhaust back into position and reinstall the rubber isolators and exhaust bezels if removed.
Note: On vehicles equipped with a hands-free liftgate, perform the kick motion on the left or right side of the receiver tube.

Safety Notes:
- Wear safety glasses during installation.
- Periodically inspect the hitch to ensure all fasteners are tight and structural components are sound.

- Use stabilizing straps (Part #18050) for all non-trailer loads to avoid damage and voiding the warranty.
