Installation Instructions for Tongue Jacks

Tools Required:
- 3/4” Wrench
Safety Instructions:
- Confirm no interference with the tow vehicle, tongue, ground, or mounted accessories in any position (stationary or in motion).
- Never position body parts under the jack or supported load.
- Fully retract and rotate the jack before towing.
- Ensure the drop foot or drop leg pin is fully inserted through both sides of the tube.
- Remove optional drop foot or caster before towing to maximize ground clearance.
- Secure the load, vehicle, and trailer from rolling by blocking wheels before operating the jack.
- Do not exceed the maximum rated capacity. Refer to product markings for rated capacity.
- Avoid excessive side forces to prevent jack failure.
Installation Instructions:
Bolt-On Rack Jack:
- Place the gear housing on the tongue and insert supplied bolts into the holes corresponding to tongue width.
- Position the mounting bracket below the tongue with the flat surface against the tongue.
- Secure with locknuts and torque to 25 ft-lbs.
Bolt-On Mounting Bracket:
- Place the jack against the tongue and position mounting straps on the opposite side.
- Align the holes in the mounting bracket with the holes in the straps.
- Insert four bolts through the mounting bracket and straps. Ensure the upper bolts rest on the top of the tongue, and the lower bolts are less than 1/16” from the bottom of the tongue.
- Secure with locknuts and torque to 25 ft-lbs.
Snap Ring/Bolt-Thru Mount:
- Snap Ring Models: Place the jack bracket over the mount and insert the snap ring into the groove. Ensure it is fully seated.
- Bolt-Thru Models: Place the jack bracket into the recessed opening on the mount. Tighten the locknut until there is minimal movement in the bushing.
"A" Plate Mounting:
- All welding must be performed by an AWS-certified welder.
- Weld the "A" plate to the trailer coupler using a 3/16” fillet weld.
- Bolt the "A" plate to the coupler using three 3/8-16 grade 5 bolts with washers. Torque to 15-20 ft-lbs.
- Weld the recommended support plate to the bottom of the trailer frame.
Maintenance:
- Lubricate internal gears and bushings annually for side-wind models with automotive grease.
- Apply lightweight oil to screw stems for top-wind models.
- For marine environments, flush jack assembly with fresh water and apply lubricant.
