Installation Instructions for Chevrolet Colorado Pickup, GMC Canyon Pickup, and Isuzu “I” Series Pickup

- Wrenches: 21mm, 22mm, 11/16”
- Drill Bits: None
- Tape (optional for block alignment)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Bumper Bracket Bolts:
- For 2007 and earlier trucks: Remove two (2) bolts per side attaching the bumper brackets to the outside of the truck frame.
- For 2008 and newer trucks: Remove two (2) bolts per side attaching the bumper brackets located inside the truck frame.

Tape Spacer Blocks in Place (Optional):
- Use tape to hold the provided 5/8” thick blocks in place on the side of the frame or bumper brackets, depending on the truck year.

Install Hitch and Fasteners:
- Raise the hitch into position.
- Insert two (2) new M14 bolts per side through the hitch, spacer blocks, and frame. Loosely tighten.

Fishwire Carriage Bolts:
- Use the provided wire leader to fishwire the 7/16” carriage bolts and blocks through the truck frame and align with the slots in the hitch.
- For 2007 and earlier trucks: Fishwire bolts from the end of the frame.
- For 2008 and newer trucks: Use the access slot on the outside of the frame.

Insert Flat Washers (if needed):
- Insert the provided 1/2” flat washers between the hitch and the bottom of the truck frame to address any gaps caused by existing welds or flat washers securing the bumper bracket.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all M14 bolts to 115 lb-ft (156 N·m).
- Torque both 7/16” bolts to 50 lb-ft (68 N·m).

- (4) M14 x 2.00 x 60mm CL10.9 Hex Bolts
- (4) 1/2” Flat Washers
- (4) 5/8” Conical Toothed Washers
- (2) 7/16” Conical Toothed Washers
- (4) 5/8” x 1-1/2” x 2-1/8” Spacer Blocks
- (2) 7/16”-14 x 1-3/4” Carriage Bolts
- (2) 1/8” x 7/8” x 2” Blocks (with square hole)
- (2) 7/16”-14 Hex Nuts
- (1) 7/16” Wire Leader
Safety Notes:
- Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Follow all safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle, and wear eye protection.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
