Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Remove Fascia Panel:
- Use a T25 Torx bit to remove (6) screws from the rear bottom fascia.
2. Remove Underbody Panels:
- Use T25, T27, and a 10 mm socket to remove (6) screws and (1) flange nut from the underbody panel on each side.
3. Remove Bumper Fascia:
- Loosen the lower part of the wheel well trim with plastic trim tools by unclipping tabs and gently pulling outward.
- Use a T25 Torx bit to remove (1) screw behind the wheel well trim on each side.
- Open the lift gate and remove (2) screws near the trunk weather seal using a T30 Torx bit.
- Use plastic trim tools to remove the fascia starting at the outer edge near the wheel wells. Unplug the wiring on the passenger side if present.
4. Remove Bumper Beam:
- Use a 13 mm socket to remove (3) factory M8 bolts from the bumper plate on each side.
- Gently remove the bumper beam and return it to the vehicle owner.
5. Install Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position, aligning the holes in the hitch with the end panel studs (refer to Figure 1).
- Use pull wires to feed the carriage bolts and spacers through the end panel opening. Remove pull wires and loosely install conical washers and 1/2" nuts.
- Install flat washers, lock washers, and M8 nuts to the top two end panel studs. Reuse the factory M8 flange nut for the bottom end panel stud with the exhaust hanger bracket.
6. Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all 1/2" fasteners to 75 lb-ft (102 N·m) and all M8 fasteners to 27 lb-ft (37 N·m).
7. Trim Bumper Fascia and Fascia Panel:
- Use a marker and utility knife to cut a notch on the bottom fascia as shown in Figure 2.
- Cut the fascia panel into two pieces as shown in Figure 3.
8. Reinstall Components:
- Reinstall all fasteners, wiring, bumper fascia, and panels removed in Steps 1-3.

Safety Notes:

- Plug any exposed holes in the trunk pan or body panels if the hitch is removed to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering the vehicle.
- Replace any damaged hitch or hitch ball before use.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Alfa Romeo Stelvio

- 1/4” Socket
- Wire Crimpers

Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Prepare the Vehicle:
- Open the tailgate and remove the cargo door on the floor.
- Temporarily remove the rear threshold plate.
- Carefully pull back the interior trim panels on both the driver’s and passenger’s sides using a trim panel remover tool.
- Remove the plastic wing screws located behind the taillights.
- Remove the taillights by pulling them gently away from the vehicle, ensuring not to damage the alignment pins.
2. Locate the Taillight Wiring Harness:
- On both sides of the vehicle, locate the taillight wiring harness.
- Disconnect the connectors carefully, ensuring not to break the locking tabs. Clean all connector surfaces to remove dirt.
3. Install the T-Connector:
- Pull away the grommets on both the driver’s and passenger’s sides to access the interior area.
- Route the T-Connector ends through the hole and into the tail lamp pocket on the driver’s side.
- Reseat the grommet around the wires, leaving the 4-flat connector and black converter box in the cargo area.
4. Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the driver-side taillight socket and the vehicle wiring harness.
5. Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector containing the green wire below the threshold cover to the passenger side.
- Route the T-Connector ends through the hole and into the tail lamp pocket on the passenger side.
- Reseat the grommet around the wires.
6. Connect the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-Connector end with the green wire between the passenger-side taillight socket and the vehicle wiring harness.
7. Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as the vehicle’s frame or crossmember.
- Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution:
- Verify what is behind the surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.
8. Mount the Black Box:
- On the driver’s side, mount the black box using the provided double-sided tape.
9. Connect the Power Wire:
- Locate the vehicle’s battery in the rear cargo area.
- Route the black 12-gauge power wire from the T-Connector box along the threshold to the battery.
10. Connect to the Vehicle Battery:
- Disconnect the Negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder and attach the ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black wire using the provided yellow butt connector.
11. Reconnect the Battery and Test:
- Reconnect the Negative (-) battery cable and insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
- Test the installation with a test light or trailer. Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.
12. Secure the Wiring Harness:
- Use the provided cable ties to secure the remainder of the T-One® Connector harness to prevent damage or rattling, avoiding areas that may pinch, cut, or melt the wire.
13. Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Store the 4-flat connector in the rear cargo area when not in use.
