Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Toyota Prius Prime

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open Rear Hatch:
- Open the rear hatch and remove all cargo area floor coverings.
- In the center of the cargo area, locate and remove the push pins to detach the center cargo panel.

Remove Trim Panel on Driver's Side:
- Locate the small round cover on the driver’s side and use a 10mm socket to remove the trim panel retaining bolt.
- Carefully pull back the panel to access the vehicle's taillight wiring.
-
Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® Connector end with the brown wire between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock into place.
- Be careful not to damage the locking tabs, ensuring connectors are fully inserted with tabs secure.

Mount the Black Box Module:
- Mount the T-One® Connector black box using the provided double-sided tape.
- Secure the remaining harness with the provided cable ties to prevent damage or rattling, avoiding areas that could pinch or cut the wire.
Caution: Verify what is behind any surface prior to drilling to avoid vehicle or personal injury.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point, such as an existing ground stud, or drill a 3/32” hole.
- Secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw. Avoid drilling into the vehicle floor or bed and clean the area of dirt and rustproofing.

Route the Harness:
- Route the harness with the yellow wire and black power wire along the threshold to the center of the cargo area.
- Locate the grommet and carefully slit it. Insert the harness through the slit in the grommet.

Connect the Rear Bumper Wires:
- Underneath the vehicle near the rear bumper cover on the driver’s side, locate the mating connectors.
- Insert the T-One® Connector end with the green and yellow wires between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock into place.
Warning: Avoid routing the wire near hot pipes, heat shields, or the fuel tank.

Route the Power Wire:
- From the rear of the vehicle, route the black 12-gauge wire forward along the frame rail, avoiding hot pipes, heat shields, and points that may pinch or break the wire.

Connect to the Vehicle Battery:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder. Attach the ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable and connect the other end to the black 12-gauge wire using the yellow butt connector.

Reconnect the Battery and Test:
- Reconnect the Negative (-) battery cable and insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer. Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall the plastic trim panels, threshold, storage covers, floor coverings, and other items removed during installation. Be careful not to pinch or cut the wires.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Secure all loose wires and mount the trailer tow harness in an accessible location using a bracket or electrical box.
Safety Notes:
- Overloading circuits can cause fires. Do not exceed stated product ratings or vehicle manufacturer specifications.
